Aaron James

Founder & CEO (he/him/his)

Aaron is a Consultant in Ernst & Young's People Advisory Services practice. He is gaining competencies in Organizational Design, Change Management, and Purpose, Culture & Leadership. His previous work ranges from the Civil Rights Division of Attorney General Maura Healy, to United States Senator and 2020 Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren. He holds a degree in Public Policy and Leadership from the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. While at UVA, Aaron won the Gray Carrington Memorial Scholarship, which is considered to be one of the highest honors the University can bestow upon a student.

Lena Gandevia

Strategy (she/her/hers)

Lena is in her first year of the Halma Future Leaders Program, run by Halma plc, a FTSE 100 company headquartered in the UK that develops medical, environmental, and safety technologies. The program is a rotational travel scheme comprising four strategic leadership projects over the course of two years. Her current rotation focuses primarily on digitalization, change management, and team facilitation. Prior experience includes product management, translational research, and human-centered design. She holds two engineering degrees from Dartmouth College.

Karunya Iyappan

Communications (she/her/hers)

Karunya is an incoming Management Development Associate at Alarm.com. Previously, she worked as an Associate Technical Project Management Intern at Yext. Her experience ranges from international nonprofit communication and health education to extensive people management and analytical research. Karunya served as the Vice President of External Affairs for the Indian Student Association, one of the largest cultural organizations at the University of Virginia, and also served as the President of a Health Education group at UVA called the Health Education for Reproductive Advancement (HERA) Initiative. She holds an undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Leadership from the University of Virginia.

Keelyn Mccabe

People & Communications (she/her/hers)

Keelyn is in her first year as a cybersecurity engineer at Edelman Financial Engines, a firm which provides quality financial planning for working class Americans. Her experience ranges from security and defense to leadership, resilience development, and teaching. While at the University of Virginia, Keelyn co-chaired the Women’s Leadership Development Program and worked on the teaching team for a course designed to strengthen students' resilience, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills. She holds a degree in Public Policy and Leadership from the University of Virginia’s Batten School. Ultimately, Keelyn intends to pursue a master’s degree in education policy and strategic intelligence.

Hannah Semmes

Sustainability & Innovation (she/her/hers)

Hannah helps organizations achieve financial, social, and environmental sustainability across sector. She currently advises clients on business strategy in healthcare and consumer packaged goods at Optimity Advisors. Previously, she worked on the Equitable & Just National Climate Platform at World Wildlife Fund, helped families separated at the border with the Office of Congressman Beyer (VA-08), and volunteered as a financial fellow for various political campaigns. Hannah graduated with High Distinction from the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School with a degree in Leadership & Public Policy. There, she served as Co-Captain of Women's Club Soccer.

Oliver Steinglass

Design & Branding (he/him/his)

Oliver is the Program Manager at Chester Upland Youth Soccer, a non-profit that provides over 500 elementary school students with after school-soccer programming, mentorship and nutrition education. At Swarthmore College Oliver studied Art and Psychology, worked for the Swarthmore Center for Innovation and Leadership, and played an integral role in establishing a Makerspace on campus. Oliver also brings the invaluable experience of a semester living in Uganda, India and Brazil while studying social innovation and entrepreneurship. In the future Oliver plans on pursuing an advanced degree and career in design.

Brian Zuluaga

Partnerships & DEI (he/him/his)

Brian is an Associate at the Centre for Public Impact, a non-profit founded by the Boston Consulting Group that seeks to reimagine government so it works for everyone. Previously, Brian was a Legislative Fellow for Senator Jeremy S. McPike of Virginia’s 29th District. He was also a Policy Intern at the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators, a non-profit organization, representing over 300 elected Hispanic State legislators throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Brian currently serves on the National Advisory Council for the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education. He holds a degree in Public Policy and Leadership from the University of Virginia’s Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

Beau Bradley

Business Analytics & Finance (he/him/his)

Beau joins us as a fourth-year at the University of Virginia, where he is studying Management, IT, and Business Analytics at the McIntire School of Virginia. His experience in data analytics and financial modeling has helped non-profits maximize donations. Beau recently completed a summer internship at Capital One as a Business Analyst, and will be joining full-time in the summer of 2021. Beau is also the Marketing Manager for a family-run startup http://bradleybaseballgloves.com, using social media platforms for marketing and data insights to help build the e-commerce business to nearly $1M in annual revenue in 2020.

Dena Bashri

Associate Consultant (she/her/hers)

Dena Bashri is a Research Fellow at Community Health Center, Inc. She works directly with the Center for Key Populations, who serve populations who have traditionally experienced barriers to healthcare. Her experience ranges from working within the spheres of international community development research in the Dominican Republic; development aid tracking and financing of China and GCC nations; and monitoring and evaluating disaster resilience among vulnerable populations of Bangladesh and Malawi. At William & Mary Dena studied Public Health, with minors in Mathematics and Arabic. During her undergraduate career, she had the privilege of studying abroad in Jordan, where she gained valuable experience collaborating with iNGOs who work within the intersection of health and forced displacement. This experience, among others, was pivotal in strengthening her interests in the social sector.

Ushindi Namegabe

Associate Consultant (he/him/his)

Ushindi Namegabe is a Creative Cinematographer & Editor. Founder and CEO of Lota Visuals LLC, a Video Production Company that creates Corporate video marketing for businesses, brands and short documentaries. Ushindi is a deeply passionate Entrepreneur who loves working with others to help them realize their dreams through visual storytelling. His passions include Health & fitness, acting, and all forms of creative content production. Ushindi is full of energy and possesses the drive and skills necessary to stay on top of every discipline in his life and help others master theirs’. He is an out-of-the-box thinker and sees every obstacle as a new challenge to assist others and himself in the growing process.

Matthew McCauley

Associate Consultant (he/him/they/them)

Matthew is currently a Teaching Assistant at the Faison Center, a non-profit educational and treatment center for students with autism and related challenges. Previously, Matthew worked as a Senior Interviewer for the William & Mary Office of Undergraduate Admission. He also served as the William & Mary representative on the Student Advisory Committee to the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV), advocating for student rights and the expansion of mental health services for colleges & universities in Virginia. Matthew cares deeply about working within communities to create an environment of acceptance rather than tolerance. At William & Mary, Matthew studied Government and Economics where he researched the ways in which our institutions impact marginalized communities-particularly the LGBTQ+ community. His experience in advocacy work and research has furthered his passion for working within communities.

Quentin Millette

Associate Consultant (he/him/his)

Quentin is currently a Tech Fellow at Blue Bonnet Data, a non profit data science company that provides low cost data analytics to down ballot progressive political campaigns. Previously, Quentin worked as an Aerospace Engineering Intern for Boeing in their Research and Technology division, where he performed research on disruptive technologies in the aviation industry. At Swarthmore College Quentin studied Mechanical Engineering and Psychology, and was the Founder and President of Swarthmore’s National Society of Black Engineers chapter. Coupled with his interest in developing clean energy solutions, he is also passionate about diversity and inclusion, change management, and strategic planning.

Anchita Khullar

Associate Consultant (she/her/hers)

Anchita is an Analyst at Analytic Partners, a global marketing consulting firm. She has previously held roles in management consulting and social media marketing. Anchita graduated from the University of Virginia where she studied Global Security & Justice and Commerce. During her time at the University, Anchita was Vice President of the Virginia Interfaith Coalition, co-founded a local Girl Scout troop, and researched the impact of changing resource allocations in sex trafficking shelters on the health of trafficking survivors.

Lois Lo

Associate Consultant (she/her/hers)

Lois is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science at the University of Virginia with a specialization in Business Analytics. A Hong Kong native who has grown increasingly shaken by the political developments in her home city, she hopes to be a part of helping the necessary work of news media thrive post-graduation. She brings with her a breadth of experiences that spans the private and non-profit sectors, including professional experiences at S&P Dow Jones Indices, UN-partner Fondation Orient-Occident in Morocco, and more. She cares about upholding freedom of speech and press, establishing digital creator rights, and achieving economic justice, more broadly. In her free time, she enjoys writing for her newsletter that explores all things strategy in the entertainment, media & tech space, going down rabbit holes on political/ product/ marketing Twitter, and grooving to R&B on Spotify.
