Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
Change Agents is a community of service-minded professionals committed to supporting the social justice, community development, and mission-driven efforts of nonprofits around the world. In accordance with our global mission, we are determined to foster an environment which is inclusive of the diversity of our partners, clients, and volunteer consultants. We are committed to centering equity within our hiring, client selection, and organizational culture.
I. Hiring
Upholding our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by maintaining a 50%+ majority of underrepresented identities in leadership and volunteers (including race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, ability, socioeconomic status, family structure, geographic representation, among other identities).
Inspiring a lifetime dedication to social justice by fostering a community of like-minded young professionals who willingly dedicate themselves to each other, our clients, and our mission
Collecting and publishing quarterly data reports on the demographic constitution of our leadership, volunteers, and clients to both hold ourselves accountable for who we serve as well foster a vibrant culture of inclusion and identity
II. Client Selection
Partnering with organizations that predominantly serve to advance DEI initiatives
Nonprofits who serve predominantly communities of color
Nonprofits who actively grow substantial grass-roots relationships with the communities they serve
Minority-led organizations
Providing pro-bono services to advance non-profits serving socially, financially, and institutionally resource-deprived communities, while utilizing an asset-based approach to our involvement
Expanding and sharing knowledge at every possible level of interaction with clients
Creating a more inclusive future where everyone can do work they are passionate about and ‘leveling the playing field’ across the private and nonprofit sectors
At each step of the project, ensuring we are creating a better, more inclusive world for all by monitoring and evaluating the systematic effects of our actions upon the economic, social, and emotional welfare of BIPOC individuals and communities
III: Culture
A commitment to fostering an Anti-racist space for clients, partners, and Change Agents
Conducting and publishing a quarterly survey regarding how we could further improve our atmosphere of safety and inclusion for peoples of all backgrounds
We will ensure that the data collected from these surveys are segmented by differing groups (gender, ethnicity, etc.) in order to gain a better understanding of possible issues and solutions pertaining to specific groups.
Strive to honor and respect each other’s stories and experiences through empathetic action and inclusion. It is our goal to ensure our member’s voices are heard and incorporated into our work.
